Head-To-Toe Science

The goal of TÜBITAK (The Scientific and Research Council of Turkey), responsible for the support for this project, is to increase the attention and the importance of science through informal learning. Home to three galleries and a total of 25,000 square feet, the center is the country’s first interactive and bilingual institution for STEM education. Targeted toward children of four to twelve, the colorful and imaginative Our Bodies gallery welcomes guests to explore the 30 interactive exhibits.

Our Bodies houses five different zones and spans 5,000 square feet for children to explore and learn the various systems of the body through hands-on activities.

Building Abroad

kubik maltbie was selected from a field of international competitors to fabricate the exhibit based on a design that was completed by Liberty Science Center in 2012. kubik maltbie managed the project from its inception through to training museum personnel, partnering with Electrosonic and Blue Telescope. The scope of work included; engineering, detailing, media design and production, media hardware, graphic design, language translation, graphics production, shipping, site coordination, and installation. This international project presented unique challenges. Predominantly built in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey, the project was shipped to the site with installation completed with local resources when necessary. Language barriers and regional differences were overcome through translation capabilities of smart phone technology and adept navigation and experience of working abroad.
