Role Description:
Kubik Maltbie is seeking an enthusiastic Graphics Production coordinator on a part time, contract basis. The primary function of Graphics Production Coordinator is to work with design and client teams to produce and install custom graphics and signage for museum projects. This includes preparation of final production files and oversight of specialty print production for a range of exhibition graphics and dimensional signage with a range of outside companies. The Graphics Production Coordinator works closely with project managers, designers, Inhouse drafting and graphics shop teams and reports directly to the Manager of Graphics Services.
Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinates with Account Managers and Project Managers to ensure that the graphic design and production requirements are met.
- Manages production of all print pieces from sampling, through production, to site installation.
- Maintains timelines, progress and budgets.
- Maintains a detailed graphics production and specification log for each project.
- Organizes and edits Final design Artwork to final exhibit specifications.
- Preps proofs for client approval.
- Ensures quality control of production files by inspecting files, physical samples and final prints and installed murals/ signage for acceptance.
- Researches and advises client team on best practices, materials and print process selection, offers creative solutions. Offers value solutions when required.
- Prepares and submits quotes to outside vendors.
- Manages vendors, installers and coordinates with in house shop production teams
- Processes and approves vendor invoices as needed.
- Maintains and orders department supplies.
- Provides pricing to Project Managers through the internal production process.
Job Requirements:
- Education: Graphic Design Diploma or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years related experience in working in field related to graphic design, large format production and/or pre-press experience to production.
- Skills/Abilities: Strong, but flexible personality to handle multitasking across a range of print processes and custom solutions, while maintaining flexibility and patience for the development process. Must be highly organized with attention to detail and excellent time management. Creativity and problem solving in often fast paced, with demands for high quality is typical. Works well independently, and within teams. Works well with project teams to find best solutions within time and budget constraints. Comfortable client facing and with shop staff. All while
- Ability to design, develop and execute effective graphic solutions with a keen eye for aesthetics and details
- Familiarity with design software and technologies.
- Ability to handle multiple projects, meet deadlines and budgets.
- Understanding of visual elements (layout, type, fonts).
- String knowledge in graphic production process and a range of print materials and print processes.
- Technical Skills: Strong experience using Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office.
- Knowledge of large format printers and production.
Job Specifications:
- Must be able to concentrate for extended periods of time paying close attention to detail.
- Work environment does not require much physical movement. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit.
- This is a contracted (1099) role
