Experiencing Wildlife

For more than 30 years, Science North has been Northern Ontario’s most popular tourist attraction and a leading educational resource for children and adults. The redesign and renovation of the third floor Northern Ecosystems exhibit allows visitors a chance to get up close and personal with local animals like beavers and porcupines or even investigate the inner-workings of a beehive. The design assist project of exhibitry including fabrication of new scenic environments for live specimens and utilizing existing habitats that were moved and refurbished.

Northern Enclosures

kubik maltbie was contracted for design-bid-build capabilities, providing project management, fabrication and installation of exhibits and hardware. The project involved the fabrication and installation of highly-interactive displays and cutting-edge animal enclosures with detailed habitats. Enclosures are fully equipped with functioning life support systems carefully integrated into realistic rock-work and vegetation unique to each habitat.
